Charentaises Man

49,00€

The Charentaise was created in the 17th century, during the reign of Louis XIV. The scrap from the paper industry in the Angoulême region was then used.

At its beginnings, the slipper without left foot or right foot slides into the hoof to improve comfort, the tongue protecting the instep from contact with wood.

Housekeepers in the 18th century used it to maintain and polish parquet floors. Called "silent", the valets used them to move around without making any noise.

This model has been produced in Périgord since 1930.
